The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Okoronkwo has said that a total of 50 Vessels carrying petrol have berthed at Nigerian ports, Daily Trust reports.

Addressing newsmen at the National Assembly, Okoronkwo said the vessels when cleared would help ease the fuel scarcity across the country. He, however said the solution to the perennial fuel scarcity in the country is the full deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector of the country.

“Over 50 vessels are already berthing in various ports in the country, it would reduce the fuel scarcity in the country but the lasting solution is for Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) be passed. This is because there are still a lot of uncertainties in the system and these are making people afraid to invest in the sector,” he said.
