DPR urges NNPC to increase supply of fuel to Rivers as scarcity persists

As part of the efforts to curtail the recurring fuel scarcity and its attendant hike in price, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), has pleaded with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), to supply more petroleum products to Rivers State, Independent reports.

DPR stated that the volume of products supplied to the state was not enough to cater for the daily need of the state, linking the shortage of supply in the state to an increase in sharp practices among filling station owners.

Speaking, Enwuchola Emmanuel, Head of Downstream Monitoring and Regulation DPR, Port Harcourt zonal office, urged the NNPC to increase supply to the state, saying that the shortfall in supply is responsible for the persistent shortages experienced by the residents and motorists.
