DPR, NSCDC partner to prosecute illegal petroleum marketers

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Eket field office says it has strengthened its partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to prosecute petroleum marketers operating illegal petrol stations in the state, The Guardian reports.

Mr Tamunoiminabo Kingsley-Sundaye, the Operations Controller of DPR in Akwa Ibom stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on the NSCDC Command in Uyo on Tuesday. Kingsley-Sundaye said that the department would also strengthen its relationship with NSCDC to ensure that government activities were achieved in the state.

He stressed the importance of the department strengthening its partnership with sister agencies to achieve a common goal in the state. He also said that there were lots of wrong activities in the downstream sector that needed the partnership of the NSCDC to bring sanity to the sector. The DPR boss promised that the department would stand as a witness to the NSCDC to prosecute the offenders so that the law would take its course.
