An unconfirmed number of persons are feared to have died when a petrol station caught fire in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Monday.
The station caught fire as workers offloaded gas at the plant. Shops and houses were also burnt. The fire, which swiftly spread to the other side of the road, was said to have also caught passers-by, as they scrambled for safety.
A staff member of Nasarawa Fire Service, who confirmed the incident to the media, stated that the fire had been brought under control.
